5 Ways DU LLB Coaching Helps You

DU LLB Entrance Exam

The DU LLB exam is a popular aptitude based entrance exam which is required for students looking to take admission into Delhi University's 3-year LLB program at its Faculty of Law. It is conducted once a year in the month of June. The DU LLB entrance exam has objective type (MCQs or Multiple Choice Questions) which are to be completed within a time frame of 2 hours carrying a total of 700 marks. Each correct answer carries 4 marks whereas 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. No marks will be awarded for questions that have not been answered. The DU LLB exam is conducted in the English language only.

The exam tests a candidate on 4 main subjects, which are as follows:

  • Legal Awareness and Aptitude
  • Arithmetic Reasoning and Analytical Abilities
  • General Knowledge and Current Affairs
  • English Language and Comprehension

Before starting the preparation, I advise that the candidate first take a conscious decision. Decide that law is what the candidate wants to do. The best time to decide would be in Class XI so by the end of the academic year you are clear with your goals and what you want to pursue. Starting your preparation as you enter Class XII is a good time since it gives you a full year to cover the syllabus and ample time to cover all the course material.

This decision to take DU LLB entrance should be a well informed one. Take help from your family and friends to decide if law is the best option for you. But once you decide and start prepping, you should know that there is no turning back. You have to be determined in your goal to prepare for this test since it is not a cake walk.

DU LLB Coaching

The exam, while not tough like Civil Services or IIT-JEE, is still a highly rated aptitude test which requires constant hard work and perseverance. But with constant dedication and discipline, the candidate can easily crack this exam. With the help of a coaching centre, the candidate can perfect their problem solving skills and easily crack the exam. In the following section, I will discuss the 5 major perks of enrolling in DU LLB coaching centres. There are many DU LLB coaching centres across Delhi and Gurgaon which provide quality study material which is taught by experienced teachers and professionals.

Benefits of Coaching for DU LLB Exam

All the students have diverse learning styles and methods which help them grasp information better than others. Some people are motivated enough to cover the syllabus all by themselves but there are people who also prefer to have professional guidance. Lot of candidates perform well with the help of coaching centres as a professional help give them a big advantage. Following are 5 major perks of coaching that students preparing for DU LLB can avail:

1. Professional Guidance: Coaching will provide you with professional and expert guidance on a regular basis. Quality DU LLB coaching institutes such as the ones in Delhi and Gurgaon often have vetted course material and strict time lines for finishing syllabus that have been tried and tested on previous batches. This helps the student in saving time for procuring material and making a study plan for themselves in terms of the topics that have to be covered and self taught.

2. Keeps you Motivated: The institute keeps you motivated by giving you a vetted structure for the studies coupled with a mentor who can help you get back on track in case you fall behind. The students regularly get expert feedback from the mentors and instructors at the coaching institute thereby strengthening their weak points by receiving suggestions on how to improve them the best. The institute will help you stay disciplined in your prep as many mentors require constant updates and progress reports with respect to the portion of practice material completed.

3. Time Management: For people who have difficulty managing time, coaching institutes will help you cover these topics in a timely manner which is a big boon considering that most of the candidates will be managing their Class XII studies along with their law entrance preparation. The instructors provide you with crucial time management skills and essential tricks which are pivotal to cracking the exam.

4. In-Depth Conceptual Understanding: The experienced mentors cover critical concepts and topics in a detailed manner which would otherwise take long hours for the student to study themselves. These conceptual classes are often followed by classroom discussions and doubt clearing sessions which can prove to be monumental in gaining clarity as all students come up with different doubts which can help you understand that concept even better. This mode of symbiotic learning with human interaction plays an important role in preparing for the exam. These classroom discussions are lacking in the self study medium and their absence deprives people of the stimulation that is necessary for encouragement which is often triggered by the instructors and our peers.

5. Regular and Consistent Study: A huge disadvantage with self study is that it relies solely on the students' will power and motivation. If you start to lose your determination and self discipline ultimately reducing the daily amount of time spent on this, then your performance will digress substantially. All such coaching centres have regular classes which work according to a schedule prepared by the DU LLB coaching institute itself. The regular classes provide for consistent study which helps the candidate not lose touch with any of the concepts and thus be prepared for the exam.

General Advice

I think that if a student strategizes and plans out their study calendar smartly, they can crack this exam in one go without having the need to drop one year. I would like to clarify that I do not think there is anything wrong with dropping a year, but if you can, then you should maximise the benefits from the DU LLB coaching institute and combine all your efforts to crack it in one go.

Combining self study along with classroom coaching can be a good idea for those who wish to study on their own but want to brush up on their concepts a month or two before the exam date. Engaging in a crash course 1-2 months prior to DU LLB entrance exam after devoting a year to self study can also prove to be quite fruitful since the experienced instructors and professionals with help you chisel out your skills and gain mastery in your conceptual understanding; and these courses are usually not that expensive either. As previously stated, the coaching institute will also provide you with the crucial time management skills and essential tactics needed to attempt the DU LLB exam.

However, this is just a personal opinion. There may be a lot of students who prefer only self study or classroom coaching. The important thing here is to know what method suits you best. If you are determined enough then you don’t have to worry. Be sincere and dedicated in working towards your goal, study hard and study smart, your result will undoubtedly show all the efforts you have put in!
